John Ludwig Koppelman (b. July 4, 1891, Baltimore Co., MD; d. August 9, 1960, Bradshaw, MD1) m. Emma Marie Christ, on April 16, 1916 (b. January 18, 1892, Baltimore Co., MD; d. October 26, 1980, Baltimore, MD2) EmilyŐs parents, William F. Christ (b. abt. 1864, MD) and Elizabeth Christ, b. abt. 1870, MD), farmed on Sinclair Lane, in Gardenville. Williams F. ChristŐs parents were born in Germany and came over around 1860: John Christ (b. Sept. 1836, Wurttemberg) and Elizabeth Christ (b. Sept. 1831 or 1841, Darmstadt) John Koppelman farmed on Radecke Avenue and on Bowleys Lane, in Gardenville, area for a number of years, and eventually moved farther out to Bradshaw. John and EmmaŐs four children, Emily, George, John, and Mary, were brought up in the Catholic Church, the faith of the Christs; a fifth child, Hilda, died in infancy:

 

          1. Emily Laura Koppelman (b. abt. 1917, Baltimore, MD) m. Bernard O.

              Barger in 1938 (b. March 8, 1915, VA; d. January 19, 1998, Baltimore,

              MD). Bernard was the son of carpenter John Otey Barger (b. 23 Dec 1890,

              Natural Bridge, Rockbridge Co., VA[1]) and Mattie P. Barger (b. abt. 1893, VA);

              after their marriage, they lived in Lynchburg, VA; they moved to Baltimore, and then

              out to the Gardenville area, sometime after 1910. The family goes back in Virginia at

              least to 1805, where BernardŐs great-grandparents, Davis Barger (b. abt. 1805, VA)

              and Eveline Barger (b. abt. 1815, VA), farmed in Rockbridge County. BernardŐs

              grandfather, John Barger (b. abt. 1838, Rockbridge Co., VA) may have fought for

              Virginia in the Civil War.[2] Bernard and Emily had two children, Robert and Joyce:

          2. George William (Buddy) Koppelman (b. 10 Oct 1920, Baltimore Co., MD;

              d. April 29, 2005, Baltimore, MD3) m. Anna M. (Boots) Geise (b. 1924; d. 1990,

              Baltimore, MD) Buddy served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They are

              buried in Parkwood Cemetery, Parkville, MD. Their children are:

                    1. Kimberley J. Koppelman (b.?) m. ? Heller

 

                    2. Heather Lynn Koppelman (b. 1984, Baltimore Co., MD; d. September 15,

              Parkwood Cemetery, Parkville, MD.
